ANNOUNCEMENTS

FRIday, FEBRUARY 10th, 2012

1.    Silver wishes campaign has come to South Lincoln again this year.  Bring in your Silver Change in order to contribute to your local hospital.  The money you raise buys expensive equipment and helps with services that keep our community healthy.  The homeroom which brings in the most change by weight wins a pizza party!  Just so we can ensure fairness, when you bring in loonies or toonies, they will be worth twice the weight of your nickels, dimes and quarters. While pennies are accepted, they are worth HALF their weight!   Start digging in your pockets and couch cushions TODAY!

2.    Any girls interested in joining the varsity girls soccer team, practices will start at the end of February. The sign up sheet will be on the athletic bulletin board. Sign up in the next 2 weeks.

3.    The Kin Club of West Lincoln is looking for 6 volunteers to help with their annual Skate-a-thon on February 23rd. Please see Mrs. Pols in the Guidance office for contact information.

4.    There will be an intra mural volleyball meeting today at lunch in the gym.

5.    A final reminder from the Main office regarding items left in lockers over the semester break.  Please come and claim your clothes, shoes, binders etc. today – all items left at the end of the day will be donated to Community Care.

6.    Please have a look at the varsity board for summer sports camp, summer circus camp and basketball opportunities.  Take a flyer - have a look!

7.    2-4-WIN!  A HUGE congratulations goes out to the junior boys basketball team who took an incredible win in overtime last night against Beamsville with our top scoring game.  Timely baskets from Joyner, Ruber and Schroeder and a personal best of 17 points from McFadyen made it a real team game.  Great work!

8.    Reminder to grade 9 French students to submit their permission forms today.  If you want to join us at White Meadows Maple Syrup Farms, speak to Madame as soon as possible to pick up a permission form.  The trip is for Tuesday of next week!

9.    The senior boys basketball team was back on the court last night facing rivals West Park in the last game of the regular season. The bears came out swinging, dominating the scoreboard early and holding that lead throughout the game, resulting in a 55-46 win. Congratulations Bears on a game played with great confidence and poise, a much-deserved win! The boys will hit the court again on Monday for their first playoff game against Smithville District Christian College. Hope to see you all there!

10. It's Friday, and that means 20 minutes of uninterrupted silent reading in MSIP!  Make sure that you bring some quality reading material to your MSIP class today.
